Is Zarte really free?
Yes, fully free at launch, no signup needed to try, no credit card. Zarte+ launches later this year; the free version stays free with reasonable weekly limits.
Does Zarte share my data?
Your scans stay private. We share anonymized error reports with our crash-tracking service so we can fix bugs, but no scan history, photos, or food data leaves the app.
Why pick Zarte for tracking my food?
Most food scanners spread themselves across every nutrient equally. Zarte specialises in sugar, the one most of us struggle to spot, and layers the other nutrients (fibre, sodium, saturated fat, protein) as sanity checks. Four scan modes (barcode, produce, receipt, menu), warm tone that celebrates wins, and scores that adjust to your goals.
Do I need an account?
Not to scan your first product. Make an account when you want history across devices, a pantry, or nutrition goals.
When does Zarte+ launch?
Later this year. Adds unlimited scans, full history, and meal scanning: photo a plate of cooked food, get the nutrition.
